Developmental Screening vs Occupational Therapy Evaluation

How do you decide which is appropriate?

If you answer YES to two or more of these questions, no screening is needed and a full OT evaluation is recommended.

1.  Does your pediatrician have concerns?

2.  Does your child's teacher/daycare provider

     have concerns?

3.  Does your child have an IEP / receive OT at

     school?

4. Does your child present with aggresive

    behaviors?

5.  Does your child have difficulty with daily

     routines?

(5/6 year olds should be physically

independent at home, school, and in the

     community.)

6.  Does your child have a diagnosis?

7.  Have the concerning behaviors been

persisting for longer than a month?

8.  Does your child demonstrate extreme

     sensory sensitivities or seeking behaviors?
